The Legal Side of Training
Two live sessions on the part most facilitation training skips: recording consent, accessibility, documentation, and what you are obligated to do when conduct surfaces in your room.
Cohort forming. Dates go to the list first.
What you get
- 2 live sessions of 90 minutes, one a week.
- Cap of 16 people, because this one runs closer to a seminar.
- Taught by a J.D. with 12+ years in HR who has handled what comes after.
- Plain language, and clearly labeled as education rather than legal advice for your situation.
$550 founding seat, $750 standard. Nonprofits, schools and public agencies take 25% off. Two free seats in every cohort.
What we cover
Session 1: consent and records
Who has to agree before you record, what the recording becomes later, and how long you keep it.
Session 1: accessibility
Captions, materials, pacing and what a reasonable accommodation looks like in a live session.
Session 2: conduct in the room
What a supervisor knowing means for the employer, and the path a disclosure has to travel.
Session 2: California specifics
Harassment prevention requirements under Government Code 12950.1, and what compliant delivery actually requires.
Who this is for
HR people, internal trainers and consultants who deliver required training.
If you are not sure this is the right one, book a consult and describe the room. I would rather move you to a different program than sell you this one.

Cohorts open to the list before they go public, and a cap of twelve fills quickly.

What happens in each session
Every session runs ninety minutes live, capped at twelve people. The list below is the actual running order, published before you book rather than described on a consult.
Session 1
Recording, consent and accessibility
Taught by a J.D. What consent actually requires before you hit record, what participants are entitled to know, what accessibility duties attach to a live session, and the captioning and materials questions that arrive the day before delivery.
You leave able to:
- Take recording consent properly
- Meet accessibility duties in a live session
- Answer the day-before questions correctly
Session 2
Mandates, records and what a facilitator never says
California harassment prevention and workplace violence prevention requirements, what training records have to show, and the line a facilitator does not cross when somebody discloses something in a session.
You leave able to:
- Map which California mandates apply
- Keep records that survive an inspection
- Respond to an in-session disclosure without creating exposure
